A big debate in Web3 is the positive or negative contribution of Web2 marketers, wannabe businessmen, extroverted dropshippers, or affiliate marketers.
All these people are coming to Web3.
They did so in 2021 to launch NFT collections that were all pumped and then dumped.
Some of them were scams, some failed, some were just stupid.
A lot of people in Web3, especially OG’s, technical people, and people from the GM matrix.
They’re very upset.
We read the other day on Twitter:
“Market is pumping again. It's just a matter of time before these same dropshippers will come to launch PFP NFT collections.”
And everyone was upset about it.
But here is the thing.
The same people that are complaining...
Don't know how to build products that real people in real life use.
They don't know how to distribute them.
They don't know how to make them easy to use.
While dropshippers launching NFT collections, taught millions of people, if not tens of millions of people how to do stuff in Web3.
How to use a smart contract.
How to install dApps.
How to use wallets.
So maybe, the Web2 marketers did more to bring awareness to Web3 than the geeks and the GM Matrix.
We know, this sounds contrarian and we totally agree that a lot of actors had really bad intentions and this we still condemn.
But think about it, think about the awareness dynamic of Web3 and crypto.
Volatility, crash, and madness is a feature in crypto.
Not a bug.
People discover Bitcoin with headlines talking about a new ATH in 2017 and again in 2021.
Volatility, madness, mess.
It's not a bug.
It's a necessary feature.
That doesn't mean you need to do stupid shit.
If you're coming from Web2, this is what you should do.
You bring common sense.
You bring distribution.
You bring marketing.
You bring awareness.
You bring education.
Not a PFP NFT collection that will pump and dump, no.
You bring this to a technical project run by gifted developers who are building solutions that are useful for the space, but extremely complicated to explain.
You become the head of common sense, the lead MVG, leader of the community.
And you make Web3 a more welcoming place, and an ecosystem easier to use.
LFB.
